My Story

Hey fellow traveller! My name is Meg, I’m just a Canadian gal with a passion for exploring the wondrous places of our incredible planet. I thrive on new experiences and the beauty of different cultures. My lifetime mission is to discover and explore as much of this world as possible.

Where I Have Travelled

My journey has taken me far and wide; I’ve backpacked across 6 continents and more than 25 countries. Some of my favourite trips include a solo five-week backpacking trip throughout Europe, a two-month camping road trip spanning 12,000km across Canada, and a one-year backpacking trip all over Southeast Asia and Australia.

Throughout my travels, I have become more in touch with my adventurous side. My most memorable adventures so far are hiking the Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, summiting Mount Olympus, completing my Open Water Diver certification in Thailand, and skydiving over the Great Barrier Reef.

My Goal

Meg Mapped Out is a comprehensive hub of international travel resources, offering practical advice, destination guides, and camping tips. I’m here to share the valuable lessons I have learned and the many mistakes that I have made throughout my travels.

I aim to inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the unknown. Whether you are looking for the coolest local museum or an exciting local activity, my goal is to provide you with the information and inspiration you need to make your upcoming trip one for the books.

Armed with my trusty camera and a seen-it-all backpack, I’m here to take you along my journey of discovery.
